Standing firm in the faith

My devotional this morning was 1 Corinthians 16:13, " Be on guard, Stand firm in the faith.  Be courageous. Be strong."    So that is what I will do.
The doctors have told us that there was no stroke all along.  That the cancer has spread into mom's central nervous system (brain fluid and bone marrow).  We are still waiting on more test results to confirm it is anywhere else in her organs.  But it wasn't the news we had hoped for.
A neurology oncologist will be meeting with us later today to give us some treatment options that will eleviate her symptoms and slow down the cancer growth.  We are hopeful that they will let her go home very soon.
Please continue to pray.

  1. Aunty,
I am so sorry for the news not being what you all wanted to hear. I am one who still prays for and believes in miracles... and that is what I will continue to do. Our God is mighty, Yahweh! No matter what test results say and Dr's. claim, God is the final determiner. I pray for peace and faith during these trials you are going through, and that you know how very much you are loved and being prayed for! You are an amazing woman, a true believer, and a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, friend, wife, daughter... I love you, Shannon

  2. Dear Kathy,
You are on my heart tonight. It is so awkward to not be able to visit you or talk to you. I know you must feel discouraged, but I know you are a warrior and you will fight this. You have ALWAYS been there for me,when I was in the hospital or at home. I wish I could be sitting with you right now but since that is not possible..what I would say to you if I were there is that I believe just as strongly today as I did at the beginning.. that we serve a God who has NO limits. The God who created the universe and every cell in your body. Why then couldn't he also heal and renew your body? I will continue to pray in faith believing for what we call a "Miracle" and God would consider it "taking care of business". He said "be still and KNOW that I am GOD" Rest in his peace Kathy. You are loved more than you can know.
    your sister, always
