Mom was very tired this week after her chemo treatment Monday. She has been sleeping a lot and doing her best to eat as many calories as she can. She had her platelet levels checked today, they were below the desired level of 20...so she had an infusion. She will go back again Monday to have them rechecked (she is scheduled to have them checked 3 times a week now, MWF).
She is also scheduled to have a bone marrow biopsy on Monday. This is a fairly painless procedure where they will draw a small sample of bone marrow from her hip so they can test it to determine if there are cancerous cells in the marrow. They can also determine the type of cancer cells so they can select the best chemo treatments for to treat the bone marrow cancer. The chemo she is currently receiving is focused on the cancer in her central nervous system fluid (brain fluid).
Her spirits remain strong and she seems to find great joy in having my dad treat her like a queen. She is always telling him how much she loves him (and us!). Her smile is beautiful!
I am glad they are doing other treatment for her to fight this battle. I will pray the treatments don't affect her negatively in any way, and she receives peace and strength soon. Thanks for taking the time to fill us in and call, you are so great Mandy, please give aunty and uncle a big hug from me and my family. I will keep praying with Faith for her everyday. Love you all,

P.s. Could you please thank your mom for sending Will graduation money and a card, it was so thoughtful and appreciated. He wasn't living with us anymore at that time, and not sure if him and his mom got a thank you out to her.
Hi Mandy, It was so nice talking with you. With all of the calls, e-mails etc. that you get, It really touched my heart that you took the time to call. I may not understand all of the new medical terminology but woking in an office where we have many breast cancer patients, I have seen so many success stories in regards to cancer survivors. We never know when that new treatment or drug will be tested and succeed. What a wonderful breakthrough the Her2 vaccine was! And let's not forget.. the great physician. Precious sister, don't give up the fight. There is power in the blood of the lamb and we will continue to petition God for healing. My love to all of you. Miss you Kathy and hopefully I will see you soon and we'll "chat". Hugs .
